This fade of blues and purples with an ecru weft twinkling through reflects a time much loved by the Elves: Dusk.
The Elves first awoke under the stars before the sun and moon were created and named themselves the Eldar – people of the stars. This shimmering star represents Arwen Undmiel, the Evenstar of her people – one of the last and greatest Elves to live in Middle-earth.
Twilight was a time much loved time by the Elves, and Arwen Undmiel’s name, meaning ‘evening twilight star’, signifies her beloved status among the Eldar.
In the centre of this pattern is the gem she gifted to Frodo: ‘When the memory of the fear and the darkness troubles you,’ she said, ‘this will bring you aid.’
Woven on a gorgeous blend of organic combed cotton and wild silk this shawl is soft and cushy.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Hand washing is recommended, although a silk cycle on a known reliable machine may be used at your own risk. Use a suitable silk detergent. Hang to dry, avoiding direct sunlight and iron on a cool setting.
