Capercaillie Pinewood Baby Wrap
✔ Great all-rounder ✔ Soft & mouldable ✔ Lovely shimmer ✔ Vegan ✔ Ethically made in Scotland
This beautifully shimmery BCI cotton and hemp fabric features our newest design Capercaillie, which depicts the iconic Scottish ground bird in a lovely Art Nouveau style. We love to celebrate our native species, flora and fauna, and hope to bring awareness to the habitat issues facing this beautiful bird - which is currently on the red list for endangered species. Read more about this and our design process on our blog.
Capercaillie Pinewood is mouldable, malleable and thin in hand. Although woven with hemp, it does not have any of the stiffness often associated with this yarn as it comes silky soft straight out of the bag, making it suitable for beginners. Hemp together with cotton make a strong and supportive fabric that is suitable for carrying children of all ages, including newborn babies and toddlers when using multi-layer carries.
Our beautiful new design is picked out in a glowing golden hemp yarn on a forest green backdrop, only fitting for this nature inspired pattern. The grippy texture of the design adds this fabric a good balance of grip and glide making it easy to tie.
By using BCI cotton we ensure that our cotton meets the Better Cotton Initiative’s high standards of environmental, economic and social responsibility. Our BCI cotton is also organic, meaning it is grown with care and without chemicals keeping the land, and farmers, healthy.
