What are Woven Seconds?

Weaving is a complex process and it is normal for small cosmetic imperfections to occur. Rather than disposing of this perfectly good fabric and generating unneeded waste, we offer these at a discount of 10% or 20% depending on the visibility of the imperfections. Rest assured, all of our 2nd or 3rd grade slings are perfectly safe to carry your baby.

Soft, lightweight and airy, this fabric will be lovely for summer wrapping and will be perfect for newborns all year round. BCI cotton and fine wetspun linen yarns will keep you and your little one cool in hot weather. It’s even suitable for toddlers and heavier children in multi-layer carries for short periods of time.  Beginner wrappers will also find this fabric easy to work with as it is mouldable and malleable with a little grip from the Kelpies design making it easy to tie.

 

The majestic galloping horses emerging through clouds of rolling manes are picked out in alternating linen yarns in natural white and ecru for a lovely subtle pinstripe effect around the clouds and inside the outlines of the horses. The name Maris stands for “of the sea”, originating from Latin, which is only fitting for this fabric woven on a stunning deep sea gradation, from deepest blues through turquoise shades to rich teals.

 

The mythical kelpie is said to be a supernatural water horse that haunted Scotland’s lochs and lonely rivers. We like to think that the kelpies in this design represent protection of Scottish mythical creatures and cultural design. Read more about the Kelpies design on our blog.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Wash at 30 degrees. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Tumble dry warm. Ironing is recommended.
